Some people get their feet wet by buying off Ebay or Amazon, both well respected websites. Ebay allows for both bidding and Buy It Now options depending on the preference of the seller. Amazon sells new and used merchandise from their own inventory as well as from outside sellers. While these are two of the most popular ways to shop via Internet, there are many other options available.

You will find almost no limit as to what you can buy online. There are a lot of speciality stores on the Internet that offer a particular kind of item. You could call them specialty boutiques. For example there are specific stores for things like food, apparel, sporting goods, electronics, cosmetics, collectibles, antiques, home décor, garden supplies and so on.
