I'm Just starting to introduce my cousin to Internet marketing techniques. He is football mad and lives, sleeps and breathes for his team. So football focused, as a marketer he can make a killing in that niche online...

To score big in this market, to have the game plan arranged and perfect timing. In the USA , the American football season grabs a massive following from the college teams and bowl games to the pro teams maxing out in the massive draw of the Super Bowl.

In Europe and South America, League matches, European Cup matches and the World Cup have the same appeal. Months before the “big game,” you have easily 6 months to market sports memorabilia, fan gear and collectibles for game watching.

Speaking of watching TV, those die-hard sports fans need the latest electronics gadgets too. You can market reviews of new HD TVs, DLPs and projectors. You can also sell information products that explain how to install your own wall mounted TV and /or satellite systems.

Then get a good affiliate program with a satellite or cable system, satellite service or electronics company to make money off products you review or recommend, these are all basic internet marketing techniques.

But that’s not all - make a list of other major sports events that attract huge attention such as the World Series (baseball), Wimbledon (tennis), Master’s and British Open (golf), NASCAR (racing) and Grand Prix (formula one racing), Boston Marathon (running), British Super Sports(Motorcycle) and Tour de France (bicycling) just to name a few.

Each of these big events is preceded by qualifiers, which give us in online marketing opportunities for months before the major event. For each sport, use proper niche research to find specific marketing options, products and affiliate markets.

Then there’s the world wide opportunities – the Olympics. As soon as the next Olympic site and marketing theme is announced by the host city, you swing into action with your online Olympics marketing strategy .

You can easily get ahead on the host city marketing by a year or more if you work damn fast. Be careful with logos and trademarks and things like that for the Olympics and other major sports brands, but you can work around that or connect with "authorized" affiliate products.

Think about it ..After the chequer flag goes down, the winners trophy is awarded and medals handed out, be ready to flaunt the winners to the fans and pat on the back the losing fans. Have some products with the winners’ names ready to go in a launch .. within minutes of learning the outcome.
You can do a lot for your business and your passions when you know the right internet marketing techniques. After all if you want to be heard you first have to be seen!
